SYL 187/5 (20.0 Ovs)
RGR 160/6 (20.0 Ovs)
David Warner, Sylhet captain: Had to come back today with an open mind and clear mind. Credit to the curators. Ball was coming on nicely. Always knew it was going to be challenging bowling second with the dew. If you give width, you’ll be hit to the boundary. Credit to Rilee, he was in fantastic form, his wicket was crucial. It’s one of those things at the back of my mind, I couldn’t get Chris away. I play golf right-handed so I thought I’ll swing it. Credit to the batters as well.
Liton Das, Man of the Match: Definitely happpy. First win in Sylhet, and second win for our team. Wicket was pretty good to bat. That’s why I hit the ball cleanly. Me and Sabbir had a good partnership, and then me and David.
Mortaza, Rangpur captain: Losing too many wickets in first three overs. Rossouw batted so well. If he had gone little bit deeper, would’ve been different. 180 was too many. Credit to them, the way they batted. Still six matches left. Have to bounce back quickly.
22:32 Local Time, 22:02 IST: Sylhet Sixers get off the bottom of the table with a comprehensive win. There’s a spring in Warner’s step as he high-fives with his teammates. He was brilliant today, both left-handed and right-handed, and his unbeaten 61, along with the 70 from Liton Das at the top, powered Sylhet to a strong total. Their only threat in the chase was Rilee Rossouw who looked in great touch, but once he was taken out in the 12th over by Taskin Ahmed, it was their game to lose.
